Celebrating Success-Welcome

Welcome to my Celebrating Success Blog. Here you will find a record of my achievements and my reflections on how they are helping me become a successful learner, confident individual, effective contributor and a responsible citizen.

Effective Contributor

I received training from ex-professional footballers who all played for Rangers and other teams.

Reflection: This helped me become more of a team player and also more confident as a footballer.

Responsible Citizen

I took part in a World War 2 remembrance ceremony. It was up at the local church in the Hope. Me and my friends Toby, Aiden and Alan all went to the remembrance ceremony.

Reflection: I learned that it was important to remember all the people who fought for the allies in WW2.

Confident Individual

I play for Kirkwall Rovers U15's, and I took part in a game for them on Monday 11th of May against Dounby U15's and I scored the winning goal. Shaun Raeburn also scored for us as we won the game 2-1.

Reflection:This goal helped me because it made become a more confident football player and can now go into every game feeling like I can play well.

Successful Learner

I recently completed a hard maths test and think I did quite well. I also completed a poem about myself in English which I am proud of. Also in English I believe I did rather well in my talk to the class about football.
I've just designed a rather spiffing shelf in technical and I am currently building it.

Reflection: Over the past term my Science test results have shown me that I would probably have to revise a little bit more. But in the reflection I got from my English teacher about my talk to the class I have improved alot in English.

About Me

My name is Ben and I attend Kirkwall Grammar School. I moved to Orkney about 10 years ago. Orkney is a group of Islands just off the north coast of Scotland. I am now 13 years old. I live in St. Margaret's Hope. My favourite subjects at School are P.E. and Technical. In Technical I like making shelves and other practical stuff.
My favourite hobbies are football, rugby and pier jumping(in the summer) as The weather isn't very good up here.
When I am older I would like to be a footballer or a joiner.
